  • HNG Podcast #12 – The Walking Dead, part 1

    Darcy and I just had to talk about what’s been going on the last couple of weeks on AMC’s The Walking Dead leading up to this Sunday’s season finale. Topics discussed: the creepiness that is Bob and the potential conspiracy theory about him, why Lizzy had to go, and fog vs. dark tunnel: which is worse? At one point we got into a pretty heated exchange about Daryl’s morgue scene a few weeks ago.

    We also talked about my experience at ConDor Con in San Diego this past Saturday and mentioned a couple of projects that you might be interested in, including I Am a Ghost and Diani & Devine Meet the Apocalypse.

    I know it’s a little late in the month to be saying that but I’m just now starting to get my energy back after two months of being sick in one way or another.

    A few days ago Darcy found this i09 article about the 65 Science Fiction and Fantasy movies to watch out for in 2014 and we thought we’d discuss the movies we’re most looking forward to in (what I think) is our best and funnest podcast to date. Also, I may have had an impromptu rapping session.

    After many delays (including a medical emergency and having to find a new printer in the 11th hour), the 2014 HNG calendar is finally here!     HNG podcast Sept 2013

    What up, y’all! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA. I seem to have very little free time these days. Soooooooper lame. I’ve got a few posts in the works though so expect some more activity very soon. In the meantime, Darcy and I managed to find some time for a podcast earlier this week and Hayden aka Geek Outlaw was kind enough to join us.

    We talked about Ben Affleck as the new Batman, Darcy’s first impression of Game of Thrones, hipster Spidey, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and some other random nerdy tangents. At one point I mention the “Honest Trailer” for Star Trek (2009) and I say that I’ll post the link so HERE YOU GO. Watch it and weep tears of hilarity.

  • HNG Podcast: Pre-Comic Con Confab Conversation…thing.

    Welcome to the 3rd HNG podcast!
    In this Pre-Com Con Con Con, Darcy and I discuss my plans for San Diego Comic Con including what costumes I’ll be wearing, what panels I’ll be camping out for, and what artists/booths I’ll be visiting. It’s a much briefer podcast, clocking in at approximately 24 minutes.

    We’ll do a wrap-up podcast next week once the madness is over.

  • First HNG Podcast

    Welcome to the very first HNG podcast! Yay! My friend Darcy (getting knocked out in the above picture) and I discussed a range of topics including, what it was like to meet Stan Lee at Amazing! Las Vegas Comic Con, Man of Steel, Independence Day 2, and a whole bunch of silliness in between. Since it was our first one and we thought it was pretty funny, we decided to keep the podcast raw and mostly unedited. Hopefully y’all have as much fun listening to it as we had recording it. We’ll be doing some more of these and I’m sure they will evolve and get even better (and/or crazier…ya never really know with us) over time. Thanks for listening!

  • Star Trek Captains Podcast (Ten Forward)

    This is a very sleep deprived HNG coming to you from New York City. I’m here visiting my nieces and having a great time with them. Unfortunately for me, I usually go to bed around midnight-2:00am California time. Combine my sleeping habits with the time zone change and my body wants to go to sleep between 3:00am-5:00am New York time. Since I’m typically waking up around 8:00am that’s not working out too well for me. 5-hour Energy has become my new best friend.

    It’s time for another podcast with the awesome guys over at World’s Best Podcast and their section dedicated to all things Star Trek – “Ten Forward.” This time around we discussed the Captains from Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. It made for a very entertaining discussion, let me tell you!

    Oh, and we recorded this a while ago when I was very sick so my voice is all scratchy and Janeway-sounding. I was also suffering a bit from sick brain so it was difficult for me to put my thoughts together at times.  But considering how awful I felt, I thought I did pretty good.

  • Star Trek Podcast (Ten Forward)

    I’m sick for the second time in a week and I have a gopher that is destroying my yard and my life.  So lame.  Just before I got sick the first time I participated in a Star Trek discussion with Isaac and Mark over at World’s Best Podcast for a new section of the podcast they are calling “Ten Forward.”

    If this all rings a bell it’s because I participated in a Daredevil discussion with them about a month ago.

    For the first episode of Ten Forward we discussed our favorite episodes from Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise.  I LOVE talking about Star Trek so this was a really fun one for me.  Hope you like it!
